Material Description
Delrin® is the homopolymer version of Acetal.
Acetal homopolymer made with Delrin® offers slightly higher mechanical properties than acetal copolymer but may contain a low-density center, especially in large cross-sections. This homopolymer also offers a little less chemical resistance than copolymer acetal. For example, Delrin® is ideal for small diameter, thin-walled bushings that benefit from the additional strength and rigidity of homopolymer acetal.
Businesses can utilize Delrin® machined parts across various industries, such as automotive, consumer goods, electrical and electronics, industrial equipment, and medical equipment. Some specific applications for Delrin® include bearings, bushings, rollers, valves, conveyor components, and electrical insulators. Its high strength and rigidity make it suitable for precision parts that require tight tolerances and resistance to wear and fatigue.
Delrin® is available in black and natural (off-white) colors.

Notable Features of Delrin® Material
- High mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and rigidity
- Very low moisture absorption
- Excellent wear and abrasion resistance
- Wide chemical resistance (resistant to hydrocarbons, neutral chemicals, and many solvents)
- Natural lubricity
Acetal homopolymer offers slightly higher mechanical properties than acetal copolymer but may contain a low-density center (also known as “centerline porosity”), especially in large cross-sections. The homopolymer also gives slightly less chemical resistance than copolymer acetal. For example, Delrin® is ideal for small diameter, thin-walled bushings that benefit from the additional strength and rigidity of homopolymer acetal. Delrin® is available in natural and black.
This material is manufactured from Delrin® homopolymer resin which has been uniformly filled with a dispersion of PTFE fibers. Delrin® AF is a unique thermoplastic material for use in moving parts in which low friction and long wear life are important. It retains 90% of the mechanical strength of unfilled Acetal homopolymer while offering very low friction.
Standard general purpose, unfilled acetal. This grade has the best impact toughness of all unfilled Delrin® products.
This is the black equivalent to the 150 SA. It has the best toughness of any standard acetal. It is also UV stabilized.
A general purpose, unfilled acetal. This grade has the best machinability of all standard Delrin®.
This is the black equivalent to the 550 SA. It has the best machinability of all standard acetal grades. This grade has outstanding UV stabilization.
This grade has 15% or 20% glass fiber filler. It has much greater mechanical properties over unfilled acetals.
