Material Description

Ryton®, a brand name of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), offers the broadest resistance to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastic.  This material has no known solvents below 392°F and is inert to steam, strong bases, fuels, and acids.  Ryton® is ideal for precise tolerance machined components because of its minimal moisture absorption and very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion.

Grades of Ryton®

Ryton® 40% Glass Reinforced PPS

Ryton®, a glass-filled PPS, is the most recognized filled grade of PPS.  It has better dimensional stability and thermal performance than unfilled Techtron® PPS, and it maintains its strength to above 425°F.

Ryton® Bearing Grade PPS

Ryton®, a bearing grade PPS, is internally lubricated and carbon-fiber filled.  It offers a low coefficient of thermal expansion and uncompromised chemical resistance.
